Abstract
This article examines the issue of orphanhood in nationwide Russian newspapers in 2024 in the context of social solidarity and protection. The authors define the scientific problem as the continued orphanhood reproduction across generations of Russian citizens, despite the efforts of the government, society, and media. The study aims to determine how comprehensively the topic was covered and to analyze newsworthy events and information sources. The results reveal insufficient citizen and public participation in addressing the issue, selective event coverage, and one-sided information sources that do not contribute to the development of social solidarity when it is essential in the contemporary historical process.
Keywords: All-Russian media, social solidarity, newsworthy events, social orphanhood, information sources and editorial policy.
