Abstract
The article analyzes the approaches of the authors of Krokodil (Russian: “Crocodile”), the main satirical magazine of the USSR, to covering the Soviet Union’s struggle with capitalist countries, and primarily with the United States, during the reign of N.S. Khrushchev. The author concludes that the editorial board constructed a system of unambiguous and cliché-like images, prioritizing ideological conformity over informative content in accordance with the official foreign policy line of the Soviet Union.
